Are a group of Amateur Radio enthusiasts which created a TV repeater service for fellow enthusiasts to use in the common interest of television activities, ranging from the technical to the visually pleasing.
The 'Melbourne ATV Group' has never really been official, Phil VK3AWG, Neil VK3BCU and Peter VK3BFG are the original members of the group. According to Peter the 'Group' is really all current users and viewers of the service.
Peter VK3BFG is the nominated WIA contact for VK3RTV (the repeater) and has sole access to the restricted site, which is leased to a commercial enterprise. Peter has built and modified nearly all of the equipment including writing all the software for the micro-controller, design and construction of antennas, video and audio processing, sound transmitter, etc. VK3AOB, VK3BCU and VK3AWG have provided goods and materials as a part of their efforts and are significant contributors in this area. There are many other amateur operators not listed here that have contributed effort, time and personal resources in assisting and making upgrades to the service over the decades.
The Melbourne ATV service is an ongoing group effort,
funded by the WIA and active ATV members.
