Here is a calculator for decoding those tricky colour code bands on electronic resistors

As more electronic components are miniturised with micro numbers etched on their surface, these lumbering giant components use colour bands or rings to indicate their value. Even experienced electronic professionals forget the right colour for the correct value and multiplier when reading resistors. Here is an interactive java script graphical calculator / interpretor for you to use and double check your memory for resistor colour codes. It gets even harder when the resistor base color is not as above, a cream but a green or blue and is so small even under an illuminated magnifier the ring colours are not obvious. That is when you must turn to your trusty multimeter and select ohms (the horse-shoe shape symbol :) and measure.
